Which one of you guys modified the bump stops on your front suspension by cutting the aluminum spacer in half & putting it on top instead of underneath the brace? Do you have photos of what you did to fit the aluminum spacer? I've machined mine in half & need to see how you cut it to make it fit aropund the curve of the beam....gonna try to install them Saturday afternoon - thanks

I also told you about it on one of my visits. Tom's pictures are great - perfect for what you need.

The other BBS, gesh.

Hey Tony, see Tom Rynne's post on my thread from a while back (Lowered Rubber Bumpers and Bump Stops) he posted a pic of exactly what you're asking. although, I don't think he described every detail he did to get things to line up. Actually here's the pic he attached:

Yep, it was Tom....got it...now I've gotta go do it!

Garage-mahal is HEATED, yes?

Garage-mahal is heated...been out there all morning

I was trying to remember what Tom did without the photo - couldn't find it in search engine...remembered he cut the aluminum spacer in half so I put mine in the band saw & cut it in half - lengthwise...went to put it in car & called myself every kind of dummy I could think of! Then, decided late last night to ask where the photo was! Now, I'm back at step 1: cut spacer in half.

"I've cut it TWICE and it's STILL TOO SHORT!"

heh, don't feel like th' Lone Ranger, friend.

Okay, Tom - next question....did you do anything to the big bump stop like cut it or did you leave it alone?

Tony, The bump stop is stock. The hose is the old one I just chopped and reassembled the end to keep the parts together til I put the axle on the car and put on the stainless babies and new calipers etc. It has collected a lot of dust in the basement since I overhauled it 18 months ago. Just about got my garaj mahal done.Drywall and insulated etc. I have radiant heat in the floor which makes you want to curl up on the floor like a cat in the sun!!!LOL
