Barn Baby had a huge mouse nest bewtwwen the carbs. Some poor family is homeless. Luckily no hoses or wiring chewed through, other than the delivery wires for the horn, which look more cut than chewed. Having the fuilds changed today and looking for new air filters for the Strombergs. Hope to be able to drive her home soon. Then the real fun begins!

How difficult was it to open the hood? I imagine it was easier, up on the lift..... Good news!

They had some "free" time before the holiday weekend rush so they took it off, As i understand they just undid the front hinges and lifted up the hood enough on the drivers side to get a crowbar in to push open the latch. Everyone expected the worst when they saw the nest, but I'm feeling pretty lucky now that it's gone.

Thanks goodness it was truely a farm, so they had corn cobs and oats aplenty. If it was in the burbs they probably would have eaten the whole car!

Just curious, how is the frame on your car?

I'm in Chicago - You're in Buffalo Grove and I'm in lake county frequently. Our cars should meet someday!!!

Lots of surface rust from sitting so long. Looks solid though. Its still at the shop and will probably stay there for a few weeks till I get my new garage floor and driveway poured. I'm actually storing two additional vehicles there during that adventure. We should definetly meet up as this is my first brit and I'll need lots of advice. A local parts house will probably be my first order of business.

Wow, that's some nest. My second TR4A came with a small one in the glove box but nothing like that

Those "little critters" just ate through a wiring harness and into two of the four PC boards in my two year old gas pool heater. Those little cuties just cost me $2,000,

They ate capacitors and wires right off of the boards and ate right through the harness in several spots.

Good luck with your new project. Had an Elva Courier IV in storage, a dry barn on a plastic tarp but over the winter mice made the bell housing their home. What a mess! Remove engine and trans. etc, etc.

Looks like you got off a lot easier.

Woirking on a recent purchase myself, a 67 TR4a, IRS. So far no major issues, but too soon to tell.

I'm in the repair business and have owned my own shop for 14 years. Most critter damage is covered on your homeowners insurance. I've seen some pretty bad stuff over the years.
