3 years of work and 6 times out my 65 BJ8 gets hit in the rear by a young guy driving dads car. Am in need of an original rear bumper and 2 original overriders in good shape. I don't need perfect as the fronts are original 65 petina.
Give me a shout if you can help.

sorry to hear - you OK?

That is bad news ---Keoke

Thanks for asking, I'm OK except for the pain in my stomach that seems to intensify the closer I get to my garage.

dancrim, glad to hear your o.k., ive got both front and rear bumpers for all model healeys but could'nt sell them for these prices...check these out ebay item#380182388280 bumper, buy now $25.00 plus shipping, *watch out for this guys shipping charges!, and item# 3304498763384 overides now $60.00, these items are used, there is a set of new bumpers for sale but my keyboard doesnt have enough numbers on it to type out the price! good luck

:frown: So sorry to hear about your accident. I hope the young man has insurance. Without a photo I can't say but perhaps the original could be straightened out? I know I've seen some that were pretty twisted and when completed looked like new. Same for the over riders. I would not suggest buying repros they just don't look correct.

A nice young fella, his dad was his insurance agent. He was driving a Caddy.
and I think what happened is when he was behind me at the light, the Caddy's hood only allowed him to see the black Conv. top and at night he missed it when the light turned green. The austin took a good hit. I actually expected to see the back end flat to the wheels. Those bumpers work great. Flattened one overrider, bent the bumper, hit the trunk handle and dented in the trunk, but just missed the "all important" shroud. Albiet my car is far from show quality it is 99% original, thats why I am putting out feelers on a bumper and overriders. I am not nuts about a rechrome as it would look too good compared to the front. Being small is something to think about in these fast go carts. PS. Not to go on, but I think there would have a lot more body damage with one of the Repo. bumpers.

Very sorry to hear your healey took a hit like that! More Important you are ok! I will keep a eye out for you, If i come across some originals i will let you know. I always fear getting hit like you because so many people want to get a closer look at my 67 BJ8 when they see it. I spent a long time in a wheel chair with a damaged spinal cord the last 2 years and was only able to work on my healey by crawling around it on my hands and knees And laying on my back rebuilding the brake system, fuel system and many other things to make it road worthy. I just was able to get out of my wheel chair for short spurts this fall and finally get to take my healey out for short rides, I have logged 250 miles so far but have nearly been rear ended 3 times so far! My body can't afford to take another hit but my great passion and love for british sports cars overpowers my fears! Besides, Working on my healey is good therapy for my mind and body! Again, I will contact you if i come across a original rear bumper and over riders. Regards, Michael.
