Got my harness!

My harness arrived in from British Wiring this morning. At first glance, it sure looks nice! I got their mid-grade item, with modern plastic-wrapped wires and a cloth loom wrap. When I get home tonight I'll compare it to the original, but it has the things I was hoping for, including some of the light sockets for under the dash (some of them on the Bugeye are hard-wired to the harness).

Good stuff, moving forwards...

So... by 10 pm you should be finished installing the new harness? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Frank (aka spritenut) would be finished before dinner.

Unfortunately, I've got a week with every night either a gig, rehearsal, or something else. Show is early tonight (home by 7:30 pm) so I might be able to at least get it physically into the car tonight. D$#! sure I'll give it a try!

Home by 7:30? ... then you'll be done by 10:30 pm

Does not really take a long time as I remember, maybe by 11:30.

New harness takes about an hour /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
Heck, I made one up for my Healey 3000 in a couple nights after work. But I used a couple of old Sprite harness to make it. My son and I made a Mini harness one afternoon and installed it in about 20 minutes.

Well, it's 9:52 pm and I've got the harness routed in most of the car, and a few connections made. I'm moving slowly, in part because I've never done this before, and part because I'm enjoying the process. So far, the British Wiring harness has been spot on with the factory original I removed. I'm impressed.

I'll probably get this finished up this weekend. I'm waiting on parts from a Moss order, and can't really get it all buttoned up until that arrives.

So by 10:30 you could've been done. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I'm not trying to rush you: just antogonize /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Nah, I'm too slow-I had hours to go. I suppose I could have skipped sleeping, but I'm not sure I would trust the wiring job at that point! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
