Took the Midget out for a short drive today.I noticed that when I made
a left hand turn that there was a noise in the front end.When I got home,I
pulled the left front wheel,& found that there was a bolt missing on the wire-
wheel flange.The other three were loose.
Then I checked the other side.Two were missing,& the other two were loose.
I tightened them up,all was well.
So when you take your wire wheels off the re-coat the splines with grease-
CHECK THOSE BOLTS!

Looks like the thing to do at tire rotations. Before any road trips with my TR with Alloy wheel I retorque lug nut's with torque wrench and also rotate each Spring start up and check air in spare. There are a lot of things to keep up on so LBC's stay tip top and ready for the road. Tires put your life on the line first check in my book. Drive them for the love of it and Safety First
 
Glad you found that, Doug! I once described our little British cars to a friend as "reliable but maintenance intensive" -- this is another good example of the little things that need to go on the regular checklist.
 
Would safety wire if you think it’s going to be an issue.
In all the miles I have traveled in my B, have never had an issue with these. My money is on someone else not doing good work.
