How about an Apple Watch https://www.cnet.com/products/apple-watch/

I like my iPhone, it is very useful, but I am the only one not excited about this latest toy from Apple? I like a nice watch as much as the next person, but give me a good Seiko any day.

Got that right. You need an iPhone to use the watch anyway, so why bother?

I see it tracking the Google Glass in popularity, unfortunately.

I can see where there might be some convenience if it would replace carrying a phone around, but you need to have the phone nearby to make a call on the watch. The idea of people yelling at their wrist in public seems like it might be annoying, too.

Personally I don't even like the way it looks. I like a nice well-made Chronograph.

I'm surprised, you seem to have all the goodies. Having only upgraded to an iPhone in the last year I'm an unlikely prospect. I never have worn a watch regularly and with a phone it's not really needed. Have a couple cool older mechanical watches that are on the block, too fragile for my reckless behavior. If I do wear a watch I've settled on this:

That leaves me with $16,991.05 to spend on somethin fun.

I have some fairly expensive watches in the drawer, birthday/Christmas gifts etc, but the longest lasting and best time keeper watch I've ever owned is a Timex! I still have the first one I bought, beat up, looks pretty ratty, but still works with a new battery. :highly_amused:

Timex: "Takes a licking and keeps on ticking"...

I bought a Seiko watch at the 1965 Worlds Fair. Seiko was just entering the US market. It's self winding and still works.

Timex it is. Not going to wear something the price of an old car. Besides, you cannot drive the watch let alone afford parts if the money tied up in a watch.

No, I don't have all the goodies - I don't have an iPad for example, and I definitely doubt I'll ever have this (never say never). In fact I have not upgraded to the iPhone 6 or even the 5S. Still have the 5 and quite happy with it. Wife has the 4.

I bought a Seiko watch at the 1965 Worlds Fair. Seiko was just entering the US market. It's self winding and still works.

Over the years I have accumulated a few watches.
1. One Seiko I inherited from Dad. Wear occasionally to work
2. A Lord Elgin (circa 1944) I inherited from Grand Dad (wear only on very special occasions)
3. This: Stuhrling Dress watch (A Christmas present. Very nice self-winding watch that looks like it costs 10x what it did)
4. This Seiko Chronograph ($114). This is my every day watch. I think Seiko's are one of the best values for watches going.
5. A Timex ($19.99 at the BX) which I wear around the house, especially when doing any sort of home repairs, painting, or working on the cars.

Don't do watches. I'm retired.

Besides,

And the Apple watch I've heard will get at best 18 hours on a charge if not used heavily. The charger works only for the watch, so besides 2 or more chargings a day you have to carry one for the watch and one for the Iphone if you're going to be gone any length of time. Don't see the value myself.

I still struggle with fat finger syndrome with my phone. I can't see how I could use such a thing. Besides if you need your phone close by, then its just a tiny phone an your wrist. No thank you.

I don't need anything like that, my 67 Bulova Accutron still works just fine.
