Got 800K burning a hole in your pocket??

Questions:
Why is it only sold to the US if in Spain?
Why, if original paint and 4K on the clock, does it have a salvage title?

Only two pictures, virtually no information, seller with zero feedback.

Hey, what the heck, I'll buy it. I think I've got 800K around here somewhere. Hate to cut open the mattress, though.

I did the shipping calculations, as provided in the link, from Spain to LAX, $2K.

Anybody know howintheheck one ships a Jaguar across the Atlantic, across the US, for $2K?

Don't know about $800,000.00, which seems to be stretching it a mite, but if driven by Sterling Moss, I would assume the value would be quite high. Serial numbers and documentation would prove that.

If the data is correct, this would be XKC003. The most potentially valuable C-type as it was one of the three original works cars, and was driven to Jaguars first victory.

Historical records show XKC-003 as being the first Jaguar to use disk brakes in 1952, and was used for spares, and following a crash at Monaco, was dismantled by the factory.

But, the 800K is "reserve not met".

I still ask.
How can it have original paint, if crashed, and subsequently dismantled by the factory?

Odds are it's a scam. But I seem to recall an article I read a couple years back where the chassis from XKC003 was used to repair another car, and parts which were collected from the factory were also used to assemble another car.
So, even though the car no longer "Existed", suddenly, there were two of them.

The picture in the auction is of a C-type in a collection or a museum. It may or may not be one of these pieced together 003 cars. Someone should pose this question to the seller.

"Records indicate that XKC003 was dismantled by the factory and used for parts. Considering your starting price, can you provide any evidence for the provenance of this car?"

I just got an answer back via e-mail from an ocean shipment company.
To LAX, about $2,450.00, 30 days.

How does one ship it by air for $500 cheaper and one-day service?
