Goodwood Festival of Speed

Oh My Goodness. Sensory overload. Two favorites (sure...as if it really could be narrowed to just two) The '39 Auto Union, The '53 BRM 1.5L V16.
Thanks.

I've been there. It's Automotive Heaven. Sensory overload is an accurate description. I promised my son we'd go one year.

I have experienced the motor museums in Stratford, Cheddar, Donnington and Beaulieu, but I still need to visit Brooklands because I am sure there was no museum there when I tried back in 1976. I could barely find any of the track through the fence, and I could find no public entrance then. Now they welcome visitors...but Goodwood would be a real bonus.

Thanks for the ideas Tom...now to convince the maker of the bread pudding.

Dave - Brooklands is in Weybridge. Weybridge is about a mile from Walton on Thames, where my employer has their European HQs. The museum is cool; not much of the track left, just some banking. Last time I was there, they had a Concorde (in pieces). They occasionally host an MG show at the museum. Caterham isn't too far away either.

Goodwood FOS is a whole different level. I literally was overwhelmed. There were cars and exhibits and vendors and food and racing and warbirds and champagne everywhere. You can easily spend the entire weekend and not see everything. You can walk right up to the cars and the drivers in the paddock and interact with them.
