If anyone is going to FOS 2014 then drop by stands 215/216 and say 'Hi'. You can also see the 'Healey Hauler' aka The Land Leviathan with 'Ol Sharky on the back

Cheers,

Ian

Hello Ian -

Your finished hauler looks awesome, well done. I won't be making it to the FOS this year, but encourage all car guys to attend this grand event at least once.

We went, we saw, we nearly conquered. According to the Goodwood Estate more than 100,000 people passed through the Stony Dell area during the meeting out of the 200k attendance making Ol' Sharky the most seen Healey in Europe this year. We got no sales on a Bedford chassis but are discussing an Alfa A12 replica transporter. Also had several guys wanting me to drive their racecars down to Classic Le Mans in two years time. Guess they haven't quite absorbed the 8 miles to the gallon (imperial) yet. One very nice gentleman, who sat in the cab with me whilst discussing a build, on being told of the 1950's levels of noise, vibration and harshness said to me " Don't worry old boy, my man will drive it to the track!" How the 1% live!

We have been invited back to display on drive in front of Goodwood House for GRRC Members Day on August 3rd.

...any chance you can drop in a more modern diesel of some kind?

The problem with old trucks is old braking systems. When the Bedford was built there wasn't a motorway in Britain and road speeds were low. I could put in a modern diesel but more likely is that I'm going to fit an LPG conversion over the winter. Sitting on top of a Cummins 6BT would not be too pleasant but I may try it anyway.
