Good Vibrations

...well not really!
I have a driveline vibration that is noticable after about 40mph and goes away at about 60mph. It's the kind of vibration that you feel as a coarseness and doesn't go away when you push in the clutch and idle the engine while at speed.
I have rebuilt all the rear end of the car, T/A bushings and u-joints on the half axles. The only u-joints I haven't changed are the 2 in the driveshaft.
I am trying to decide whether it's these u-joints or maybe a differential problem.
Any collective wisdom on what I should do next?

Just a thought ... I had a vibration I felt through the steering wheel, seat, and just about everywhere else (TR3). Always started up when I got to 45mph.

Tried balancing the wheels - no change. New u-joints - no change. Alignment - no change.

Then I read (here) that original steel wheels can be "out of true", after years of hitting chuck holes and curbs.

I tested each of my original steel wheels myself, and found all four were *very* wobbly at the hub.

Here's a link to one person's experience, tho' your symptoms may be something completely different.

Hope this helps.
