That is expensive, but we really don't have many choices now. When I bought my Vredsteins, I got them for @ $125 each with shipping. Mounting and balancing was $50 for all four. When all was said and done, it was about $140 for each tire. I'm just dreading the day I have to replace the tires on my 350Z...@ $900 mounted and balanced... :cryin:
 
Bought them at www.dekkonline.com. The US version seems to be www.tires-easy.com but I couldn't find the vredesteins there.
BTW, do radials require a different pressure level than bias ply tires?. I filled 26 psi front/28 psi rear as per the manual for highway speed, but I have the feeling they could do well with slightly more air.

They are very expensive but are 26.8 inches in diameter with a
sectional width of 6.9 inches.

The 175/80-15 tires that are supposed to be the ideal size for our cars,( and nobody makes them anymore ),have a sectional width of 6.9 inches and a diameter of 26.0 inches.

Are these tires simply several year old tires that are no longer made and we should be cautious of buying them from anywhere because of old age ?

Is anybody using these 180HR15 tires on their car ?

Where is the best place to find them at a reasonable price ?

It would seem that these 180HR15 Michelin XAS tires are exactly what we need for our 3000 s .

I guess they are " too good to be true " or they would be selling them at Hendrix WW .

Is anyone using these tires ?

Are they currently being manufactured, or are any that might still be available simply old, aged, stock that should be avoided ?

If they are still being manufactured, where is the best place to get them ?

The 180HR15 MICHELIN XAS is still listed for sale on several
web sites throughout the world but I have not found any brand of 175/80-15 tires for sale anywhere. Does anyone know a place that sells 175/80-15 tires ?

Do you know if your club member has 60 spoke or the 72 spoke wire wheels ?
Did your club member check the DOT code on his tires to see when they were made ?

... I am curious if these tires were recently manufactured or not.

Did you ever get any further with the Michelin 180 R15 tyres, is anyone using them or are they to expensive and not worth the extra height.

Now looking to buy some tyres so would welcome any thoughts.

I put some Fuzion HR1 185\65R15 on my BT7 and love them.

They are less then $50 per tire made by Bridgestone.

Hi Mark,
Since tires are different things to different people, I'm curious what you like about them. Do they handle corners well, good on wet pavement, high mileage wearing? Thanks.
 
If you are happy with radial tyres, I think there is no better for the Healey than Avon CR6ZZ's. They come in two compounds, hard and soft. Hard is perfect for road use in all conditions. They are a modern construction tyre that has a classic appearance.But it's their performance that is their oustanding feature. I use 185 70 15, but I think a 165 is available.

I can say I have only driven in rain a couple of times and they cut thru the water just fine. They corner well and have lots of side wall support running low presures. Now I have only the old dunlop tires to compare with that where on the car when I got it.

One other thing is they are just a tad wide on the front. So I some times get a little dirt chucked up.
