Goin' to Orlando for a conference next week. I like to find the out of the way, good local cookin'-type places to eat when I visit. Not the big, fancy ones or chain restaurants, but the locally-owned, good food types.

Anyone familiar with Orlando eateries?

Where you going to be? not a lot of really unique food in Orlando, but, my favourite BBQ is O'Boys in Winter Park.

The Winter Park location has closed.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO :cryin:

Don't know if you're getting there but we were also pretty big fans of Deck Down Under in Daytona

Shogun Restaurant
6327 International Dr, Orlando, FL 32819

Kinda 'kitchy' but been there a few times and never disappointed in the food.

Not as good as Thai (I'm spoiled) and better than most sushi-bar-only eateries.

The absolute best I have had in Orlando is the Brazilian Steakhouse! Just awesome fare...what a dining experience!!! While in the area, check out Downtown Orlando (I recomend a Fri. evening for that)!

I'll be staying at the World CEnter Marriott, the big one.

Another conference . . .

Thanks to all for the restaurant ideas!

There are a couple of decent places at Downtown Disney that aren't really chain joints - that's just a few minutes from the Marriott if you hit the lights right.
