Good news/bad news

Thank you John. One of the things I have never learned to do consistently is copy a link so it works.

Sumpin wrong with them AMTRAC folks they have been in trouble.
consistently of late.

Glad there was no loss of life here---

Why I don't trust GPS
Why? The car stalling on the track has nothing to do with a GPS. I don't understand why the news even bothered to mention it.

"NBC Bay Area reported that the driver turned onto the track while using a GPS navigation device and got stuck."

Sounds like the driver took a turn onto the track following the GPS. not crossing over it.

As to G.P.S......Doveryai, no proveryai!
I am loath to imagine the impending horrors of the self driving auto/transports.

Can't tell from the photo but I'll bet the fender spears were on backwards.

Maybe, the paragraph before said stalled. There is a turn just past the crossing which is where he probably should have turned if he did turn onto the tracks. He could have made the same mistake using a map.

You are absolutely correct, I know I have made lots of mistakes using a map.... Doesn't change the fact that I don't particularly trust nor do I want to become dependent on a gps. I have one in my truck and have found a lot of mis-directions, so I rarely use it. My original comment was simply an obviously poor attempt at humor, sorry. The accident it a true tragedy and I was not intending to make light of the drivers misfortune.
