Good Morning from Chicago!

Hi all,

Just a quick Hello from Chicago!

The wife and I are currently taking care of a '74 MG-B that wears BRG. We've had it for 2 years now, and I have rebuilt the brake system and the suspension system.

Lot's left to do though. It's a rolling restoration though, as we enjoy cruising in it in the summer. Most major work takes place during the long Chicago winters.

Someday I want to get her painted. But that means I'd have to do some bodywork, the one thing I'm a bit nervous about touching!

Hello neighbor! What part of the city are you from? Excellent weekend we had, yes?!

Welcome to BCF, by far the most welcoming website I have ever come across! The MG forum is pretty active, there is a WEALTH of knowledge and experience here, and along the way we even have a little fun!! Anything you need or need to know for your B can be found here and if not, someone will know where to get what you need. And we are all picture junkies here, the more pictures the better!

Thanks Peter,

I live in the lovely hamlet of Jefferson Park.

Yes, it was a great weekend, too bad I've been laid-up sick for the past week and a half! But I'm mostly better now.

Yeah, I like a picture too... Let's see what I have on hand... Hope that worked.. And no, I don't know why the hood (bonnet) was unlatched when I took the picture.

Hi There Spinal Tap,

Now there`s an unusual name! I`m sure it must stand for something?

"Welcome" to the "BCF" from the Pocono Mtns of PA.

Have Fun here & in Chicago with your "B".

Regards,

Russ

Jeff Park?! We ARE neighbors, I live in Portage Park, a stone's throw from you!

Portage Park?! No way! We live on the south end of Jeff Park, so nearly in Portage Park! Small world, eh?

Well, if you see the car in the picture above, with license plate SPNL TAP, well that's me! Or the wife.

Toysrus: The name is from the license plate, and that comes from the movie. The movie was a spoof documentary of a fictional rock band called... Spinal Tap. A pretty funny movie really.

Aeronca65t: Hey, I wasn't too far from you a few weeks ago. We were visiting my sister in Philly, and we went to the NJ coast to do some sight seeing and a little gambling. It was my first time to NJ. I have to say, it was very nice! Which, for some reason, surpized me! I don't know why. Congrats on your B!

Hi Spinal Tap,

Thanx Nial & Spinal Tap for the education.

"Atlantic City" a nice place!!! Obviously you did the right thing and did`nt stray more than 2 blocks from the Casinos.

Cause if you did; You`d better be packing a .38 Caliber!

Not so here in NE PA. At least not yet! Currently the casinos here are just digital machines (Pretty cool but digital). To the best of my knowledge; There is supposed to be another casino going into "Bethlehem" comes Feb.09: It supposedly is owned by "Sands" & not the "Mohicans".

Just goes to show you where this country is going. They shut down "Bethlehem Steel" and are putting in a gambling casino in its place!

Wow!!

Russ
