good health and a drive in a TR

Good health and a great drive.

Five weeks ago I had to have surgery on my leg to repair my torn Achilles tendon. Don’t ask how it broke.
Because I knew I would be out of commission for a few weeks, I decided it would be a good time to have some work done on my 1974 TR6.
I ordered a set of front and rear springs and adjustable rear brackets from GoodParts. My good friend at Britalia in Fullerton California agreed to do the install. After the springs and brackets were installed the car was sent to the alignment shop. Car was set up with 1 degree negative in the rear and .5 degree negative in the front.

Last night I got to drive it home, a thirty-mile drive, top down. What a great feeling. I want you all to know how much better the car feels with the GoodPart springs.
The car is much more stable now. I drove it both on the freeway and some back roads. Just feels great. And it looks much better now that is it lower by one inch.
It sure made the last five weeks of waiting worth it. Driving the TR was and is just good medicine.

I ran all of this through my decoder ring. The results was;

Driving a TR6 is good for your health.

From 'TRA Philosophy' on the Triumph Register of America website:

"...We believe in side-curtains. We believe in engines that last forever. We believe in a rock-solid ride and cut-down doors. We believe that overheating in traffic is an unchangeable, natural phenomenon, just as earthquakes and tornadoes, no matter how unfortunate they might be. We believe that the person inside an automobile who is cold in the winter and hot in the summer--just like the weather outside--is a more healthy person, who will no doubt live longer than those who drive along in a controlled, unnatural environment..."

Do the health benefits increase/decrease with the progressive TR model year?

Or must one match the TR to the given health need for optimal benefit?

Hmmmm... maybe justification for another TR in there somewhere.

So would my TR3+TR8 just make me as healthy as a TR-250 or Chrome-bumper TR6 owner -- or maybe a GT6 owner...?

In all seriousness, there's nothing like a TR3 to make you feel alive.

It would be healthiest to have a selection of Triumphs to drive on a rotating schedule and on various twisty, windy roads.

Occasionally break things up by driving a 1980s-era American car, to help prevent RSI (repetitive smiling injury).

You got that right!

Except maybe a TR2, or a TR3A, Or a TR3B.... Ok I'm just being technical. But this is a medical study, is it not?
I woulden't want the "clinically proven" status to be jeaprodised. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I believe any Triumph is as good as the next... as long as you smell like the car once the drive is finished. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

[/ QUOTE ]Then we probably should have a 'control' group, perhaps driving, say, 1975 Ford Pinto Squires or Levi Edition Gremlins!? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazyeyes.gif

Pinto squires and Levi Gremlins! I'd hate to be in that Plecebo group. I'll take the real stuff.
My "technical list" was the other models that are really the same car as a TR3. But Im not gonna argue with the listing of any "rumph"
