Good Grief! CenturyLink Customer Service!

So I have a CenturyLink account only because I have a landline number which I only have forwarded to an internet phone number. My monthly bill is only $7. I recently decided to start paying my bill online instead of my snail mail.

When I set up my account I entered a bank account to pay from, but had a typo so had to enter a second account with the correct account info.

All I want to do is delete the bad account from the drop down options. I have been on the phone with 4 different people and online chat with 3 different people. So far none of them have been able to help with this seemingly simple task.

I am currently on hold for person #5.

Geez, what can be so hard about this?

Five minutes is up. Right......now.

And someone finally came online (Person #5). As I was trying to explain what I was trying to do, I accidentally stumbled on the answer and it was remarkably easy. Just had to "right click" on the account I wanted to delete from the dropdown. All of the sudden a box popped up asking me if I wanted to delete that account. I selected YES and Poof, it was gone! Five people on the phone and two or three different chat sessions and no one had a clue!

I hope you educated them on how to do this so future customers can benefit.

Two years ago Time Warner switched to "all digital" which meant my old analog TVs would no longer work without a simple converter box. I had problems with one of the three boxes I set up and called for tech support. Like you, no one knew how to address my problem. While on hold I found an error in the quick-start sheet that came with the box. Once I recognized their error and went through the procedure correctly all was well. When the technician got back on the phone line he took notes from me on how to fix the problem.

On a corporate level, 10 years ago one of my co-workers needed information from FANUC robotics. He called and no one could help him but they promised to call back with an answer. Meanwhile my co-worker kept digging and found the information on the FANUC website. True to their word, they called my friend back and announced they could not find the information. My friend walked them through how to find the information on their website.

Sometimes tech support isn't what it is cracked up to be.

This is why we need cars that drive themselves & humans to sit quietly in the backseat. ( even now I wait for spellcheck to give me the right word options)
