Always found him amusing (in my youth). Was reading, though, that he was really into all the nonsense "Orgone" theory stuff (of Wilhelm Reich). Now THAT is amusing pseudo-science.
Anyway, a sad way to go.
EDIT: Just read in the Sunday NYT an interesting bio about him. I guess he was quite the itinerant hippie in the late 1960s. Also, it seems he felt that US military generals were planning a coup d'Ć©tat in 1970, so he moved his family to Australia (for a time). Sounds like quite the character.
