That is awesome, thank you for posting. From the beginning, "every day I prayed the car would start", to the point of "I did not realize how often the car would break", to the end - "I keep driving. I would make the trip in reverse in a heartbeat."

77 years young. Wonderful!

One part I did not quite understand, was the cancer discussion. Did she, her friend, her husband, have cancer? Perhaps the Facebook story tells more?

Update: Evidently Heidi had cancer during her journey, flew back to Germany for treatment, and then finished her adventure, cancer free. https://www.hemmings.com/blog/2015/08/25/one-womans-solo-journey-around-the-world-in-a-1930-hudson/ Wow, I am impressed and happy for her.
