GO AWAY!

Ok, the guy finally comes through
with the title slip on the 75.

So here is how the deal works
First he originally advertised it as a 74, so I get excited.
Then after looking the car over, I tell him it is a 75, ok so far. He started out at $2500, then after I inspect it drops it down to $1600. I ask for the title, I don't agree to any price til there is a title present. So he strings me along for 4-5 days, always telling me that its a deal at $1600.

I never agreed to his price, just wanted to make sure that before we proceed that there is title on the car (only because he said there was, I buy paperwork problem cars all the time so nothing new to me here)

I go over, he shows me the pink slip, and I say Cool, now we can do the deal, he says $1600? Right?
I say nope, I'll give you $1400, there's alot of work here to do to get it road worthy. He says no, I told you $1600, and I remind him, I never agreed to a price until you got the title.
I fan out the money on the bonnet and tell him to tell me to go away. He looks at me as if I was nuts!

SO I remind him, I need this car like I need another women in my life ,and to tell me to go away! Well he looks at the the dough and starts walking in circles saying I told you $1600, and I tell him, tell me to go away, and he says $1600, and I say we can play this all day long, but I know that NO one has even remotely looked at this car, and to tell me to go away!
I tell him the wind is kicking up and that his money is blowing in the wind, or do you want me to leave?

Finally, I play my ace card, after a half hour of this game, I tell him "Hey, if you suggest that we split the difference, we can do the deal today!"

This will clean up nice, got it sold already to a lady with a 78 who is giving me the 78 MGB and buying this one once it is all cleaned up, everyone one is happy except Carlos, who never told me to go away.

This is what I bought for $1500 :yesnod:

Proof again that the advantage is almost always with the seller. Cash does talk, now doesn't it.

Before I got my GT I spoke with Ken Smith and Tony. Both said, slap money on the hood that you want to spend and walk aroung the car nodding your head. Worked like a charm and the car was mine.

I was under the car today,

undoing all the previous owners repair work,

when it hit me.

This car has the overdrive option.

Kewl!

Nice score!

LOL, just the overdrive.

Its not always the car, but the nut behind the wheel.
