Getting rid of the flats

RE Gas cap - I have one on my BE from a Spitfire, (I think the same caps were used on Sunbeams and they are similar to AMs!). I love it!! (Especially since I have lost a couple of the old chrome caps!)

Looks good. Now you've gotta get the rear end down a bit. Jeff

Coming back to this conversation, I had a guy from my club come to help me sort out my timing - turns out is was right - hurray! Anyway, he had also converted a Rubber Bumper like I plan to - we got talking about lowering the suspension and he made a couple of interesting points.

1. He started with a lowering kit on the front but his tires rubbed so he used 1275 speings instead - has anyone else had the tire rubbing experience?

2. The conventional wisdom is to take a leaf out of the rear springs. Instead he went to a spring shop and had them de-arc (I think was his term) the spring - basically they put the springs in a huge press. anyone else tried this? He said it only cost him about $30 (5 or 6 years ago)
