In lieu of waiting on everyday parts, by this I mean tune up & filters, how do I go to the local Autozone & get these. I've no problem getting what I have to from Tony but if I want to run to the store to pick up plug wires, cap & rotor, I should be able to. I just don't want to get there and have the guy at the counter say "uhh what...MG TD. Who make's that".

Starting the "Awakening a sleeping TD" checklist today.

Good luck on finding a cap. Last year I needed to replace the distributor cap on a customers TD. I had a heck of a time finding it. When I did I paid 30 something dollars for it.

I always keep a full tune-up kit on hand so I don't gave to deal with local auto parts chains. The best place to keep them is in the boot as spare parts for the road. Once I use a part, I replace it as soon as possible.

Tom's right on the cap - I remember when he was looking

oh ,when you finish the checklist, if you want, we can put it with my "Awakening a Sleeping MGB" checklist.

I have a posted on a few other sites and am compiling all of my info for ya Tony.
Luckily I think I got a cap from a guy named Rob from MGT's. He worked in Milford out of his house and I stopped by to get parts a few years ago before he sold the business. I think the business is still at that location but under a new name & owner. He was very helpful and extremely knowledgeable about TD's.

Wow, I just got goose bumps, I remember Rob well.

Where did he go?

I dunno, I used to work at a nearby foreign car shop and would periodically go there to get parts or rather just look at the cars.
