It's headed our way. Nial, Tom start your snow blowers. We are expecting 5-8 inches here :censored:

No kidding! Enough!

As I shared with a friend in Utah, what do the following dates have in common?

January 24, 27, 30, February 2, 5, 8, 10, 12, 14, 17, 22, March 1, 2, 3, 4.

Answer: each date represents a *different* snow storm, at least one each weekend. We're actually up to the tenth "named storm" so far. Eastern Connecticut now has received the equivalent of eight feet of snow, altho' the actual depth at my place is about 3.5 feet due to compression and evaporation. The sides of the driveway look like white sedimentary strata, with grey "dirt" lines separating the storms.

Today (45F) another three inches - this time heavy wet stuff which weighs a ton. Temp drops into the 20s tonight, so it all freezes solid if you don't remove it fast.

Trying to lift it to the top of the five foot piles already along my 200 foot driveway - heart attack city. A friend of mine (age 72) learned yesterday his 57 year old son (divorced) died of a heart attack while shoveling. Leaves two kids alone.

Tonight - more snow! But at least I know how to dress for it:

Had on shorts today and had to turn on the A/C too.

You boys had enough of up yonder yet?

Lemme know and I'll pick ya out a parcel. :yesnod:

I don't know how you guys do it.

Tom, you should move your shed now while ice is on the ground. You won't need rollers.

Greg - great idea. But first, please come over and remove the 3.5 feet of frozen solid snow that sits on the ice all over the back yard.

:jester:

I'd recommend a couple shaped charges for quick dispersion. I haven't owned winter gear for decades so I wouldn't be of any use.

Sorry to hear about your friend's son. We B-P-M about the weather but it's not all fun and games unfortunately. :(

This winter started out okay in Maryland, but it went to heck starting in February. My snowblower has logged more miles than my Sprite this winter.

Just plain NASTY. We're finally thru our "winter" here.

After a couple weeks' worth of winter here in this part of NE Tenn., looks like we dodged a bullet. Was 71 yesterday; supposed to be mid-thirties today and rain. Warming trend coming - YAY!

Mickey - I think you spoke too soon.

PS - how's the house guest?

Depends on the forecast source. Looks like a high of 39, with less than an inch of wintry mix. Cold tonight, but warming starting tomorrow. I'll take it compared to what we've had!

Tom left Tuesday morning. Had a great visit.

My car is completely covered too Nial. It's coming down at a pretty good rate here. Make it stop.
Flip-Flop party at doc's house 3pm if you can make it.
