The last "moronic shop" put composition donuts on this MK2.
Of course, they were history.

So, I ordered out steel units, went to put them in like we did on 3.4 and 3.8L.......

Except the deck height is lower......hence the exhaust manifold is lower....single exhaust is not supported like duals.....

Had to drop the sway bar to get the pipes past the manifold studs, had to tie up the exhaust tip to allow me to re-position the pipes close to the manifold.
I spent more up and down time trying to get this lined up, but finally success.

Only two hours.
