I'm restoring a TR3, and want to freshen up the gearbox with new bearings, synchros and whatever else I find that needs attention. The factory service manual mentions a Mainshaft Circlip that needs a special tool for removal. I remember years ago (back in the '70s) having taken TR gearboxes apart without this. Is it neccessary?? Or, maybe my hammer was bigger back then... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hammer.gif I haven't opened the box up yet, but want all the ducks in a row before I do.
