Gearbox oil leak?

Is a slight oil leak anything to worry about or is it part of life with an MG?

Sorry for all the questions but every time I look or drive the car I see something else and I want to understand more.

Small driveway oil spots are a signature of owning an old british sportscar... that said... it shouldn't be pouring out. Check your levels weekly, or at least every time you buy gas at minimum. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif Also, the leak more than likely is coming from the valve cover or tappet covers (under and behind the carb/s) and running down the transmission from there.

A slight oil leak in an MGB just means that it's getting lubricated. Dont worry about it unless it stops. Just keep checking the oil and keep it full. What would we do without these little cars? Don't you just love them! PJ /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cheers.gif

Makes a nice, free rust preventer for the transmission tunnel too - hehehehehehehehehe.
