Hello,
When I accelerate I here allot of gear lever noise. If I place my hand on the lever the chatter stops. Any ideas as to how to fix this noise.

There should be a small plastic piece at the end of the shaft where it connects. Yours is worn away. I'm sure someone here knows where you can get a new one... Tony?
 
Not only a plastic piece (bushing), but also a spring below it and a rubber "O" ring in a groove on the ball end of the shifter-rod. These parts are all available from either VB or Moss!!
 
Thanks I will check my local guy and see if he has the parts in stock. Now 500 miles on my new engine it is running perfect. Hap says one week and my ported head will be on the way North. Having trouble waiting.
