Gear Shift Lever Travel

What model Healey do you have? I don't believe there is a way to change the travel. Did you have a bronze or nylon bush before? Are you sure you ordered/received the correct nylon bush?

You might check if the 1/2 selector shaft's screw is screwed in tightly and has the wire in place.
Need to remove the fiberglass tunnel in order to remove the tranny top. Becareful the 3 ball springs at the front don't fall in the tranny when you raise the top.

Thanks, I'll try it soon. What do you mean about the bullets? Do they fall out very quickly?
Is there a trick to removing it?

Sometimes some of the springs will be attached to the lid rather than staying in the tranny housing when you lift it. They may drop out of the lid while you’re lifting it. If the springs do drop into the Tranny use an extendable magnet to search for them. If you can’t get them you’ll need to remove the transmission, remove the gears to find them.

As you are removing the lid do it slowly. look in between the lid and the case; try to keep the springs in the case or if they come up with the lid, carefully move the lid away from the case or grab the springs with your fingers.

In which position must "Lever,Selector" be set?
Neutral when you lift it, and neutral when you place the lid back on. As you are bolting the lid back on, make sure to wiggle the lever to confirm it's in neutral. If it isn't, it's pressing down on one of the selector forks and will bend that selector shaft as you tighten the bolts.

I'd check the oil level first.
Is the oil a little under the full mark on the dip stick? What oil are you using? When was the last time you changed it?

Hello, I'll go through all the points in the next few days, I'll get back to you as soon as it's done. Thanks.

Hello everyone, it's me again. I have one more question. Is the shift lever allowed to move up and down? Mine has a lot of play when I pull it up.

Just a little. It'll take a good firm pull to do so. Confirm you have all the parts, Spring, Washer, Circlip.
The two gear-lever locating pins should be tightened enough for free movement, without too much slop or too tight.
