Gas Tester/Analyzers?

Anybody know if these gas tester/analyzers work or not?

1) Gastester Moss part #386-220. They claim it will bost performance and lower emissions.

2) There is another like item listed on LBCco's web page - an "Exhaust Gas Tester/Analyzer Digital". Made by GUNSON P/N #G-4125. LBCC states that this is the same as the 386-220.

Any advice, rumors or innuendoes welcome?

I know a couple of guys who have installed an oxygen sensor and fuel/air guage pod with good results. This gives you the ability to tune the car through all the rev range and give you that dynamic feedback while driving as to how your mix is burning. You can buy a universal O2 sensor and have it installed into the bottom of your manifold. Places like Jegs & Summit sell them.
 
The main reason I'm looking at these is that the California DMV has informed me that I need to take my 78 MGB into a "Test Only" smog center. I guess this is random selection as according to the Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR) the test only stations are for cars that are more likely to pollute the air.

Normally I would just take my B to one of my local British car mechanics here in San Diego and let them test it. This way if there is any problems – I would authorize them to fix or adjust whatever is not allowing my car to pass the emissions testing.

This is where the Gas tester/analyzers come in. I was looking at picking up one of these and trying to make sure the car is as sound as possible prior to taking it to the testing facility.
