Gas Tanks

Hello, this is my first post to the board even though Ive been following many of the threads and find it fascinating. Iv been invovled with Healeys for years and recognize some names from the shows. I drive a 2 seat 1960 3000 and am working toward a good running 100-4. Im about ready to put a fresh engine in one and just got my $200 EBAY gas Tank. Its not the quality I expected, quite a few curves where it should be flat. I was wondering if maybe I just got a "Monday Morning" tank or if all the tanks are wavy and heat buckled. The seller said I can return it to California for another, which would add $40 to the "bargain".Any experience with these gas tanks.

Harry: That is one of the problems with buying things on E-bay. You cannot always judge the quality of the offering from the photos and the distances often preclude a personal inspection. In this case, I think you may have bought a poor quality product. Perhaps you can arrange with the seller to return the item for a full or partial refund? If not, you may be stuck with it. Try it and see. AL Bradley

Its a bit late now, but...

When I see someone selling an item regularly I try to ask a previous buyer what they think of the product bought and the vendor's service.

I usually get a reply that's fair and more informative than the line allowed for feedback.

James.
