Just got my carbs back from Apple Hydraulics -
with a note saying there was rust/etc. in them, possibly
from the gas tank.I'm thinking "as long as" I've got the car
down (also sent the weeping radiator out for repair),that I
should remove/inspect/repair it.
I'm trying to think this out, before I get into it.What's
involved with the removal,& what's the best way to do it?

Really simple. Drain the tank, remove the filler neck, disconnect the wires for the sender and remove the gas hard line. Remove the bolts from the top. Use a floor jack to support the tank and remove the remaining nuts on the bottom. Lower it down and you're done. Install is the reverse. If nothing is rusted about a half hour or less to remove. Install is the reverse however don't tighten everything up till all the bolts are started.
