Gas tank install

I wish you all a Merry Christmas.
I am about to put my gas tank back in. On the inside I have treated it with the GAS TANK SEALANT from Eastwood Co. I appears to have done an excellent job. On the outside I have painted it with first an Epoxy seal coat then base/clear black paint. I used base/clear because it is so darn tough. I am about to install it in the car. I have the rubber seal from Moss, but my question is, besides the rubber seal around the openning in the trunk floor, did the tank sit on anything else between it and the floor metal? Especially towards the rear of the car. Thanks again, Dave C.

My BJ8--completely original except for paint when I bought it--has a couple of canvas strips under the tank on the boot floor running lengthwise from front to back. Our BN2/100M--which didn't have the original tank--had nothing (which we left in).

Regardless, couldn't hurt to put a couple of hard rubber strips under the tank to help prevent rusting (although with the way you've finished the tank it isn't likely to be a problem).

Thanks Guys.

Thanks Duane, That's good stuff.

Dave C.

Yes, Moss has a little blue "info" button on the list of parts. Clicking on it loads the additional information on the indivdual part.
