Gas tank clips - Anything better?

Now that I have recieved my new gas tank I need to put it in but am looking for a better way to deal wi the clips. So far all tanks I have taken out have had broken clips and they are a royal PITA. What have you guys used in lieu of these clips?
 
I just put my tank in and I used the old clips with new nuts and bolts. I welded a small weld to hold the nut in beyond the clips grip. It worked great.
But with a new tank, I would probably just use new clips and bolts. They seem to work well for first applications.

323-628 I used the kit when I reinstalled the tank in the 75 and I'll be using it again this weekend when I put the tank back in the 73.
