gas stains on carb bodies?

Does anyone have any ideas on how to remove old gas stains from carb bodies, its kind of a brownish/gold stain...

Don't tell my wife, but I clean carb bodies in the DISHWASHER! Seriously!

I also clean a lot of stuff in the dishwasher. It works wonders.... just don't use a cleanser with gritty particles or you get 'em stuk on whatever you're cleaning.

T5 PURPLE AUTOMOTIVE CLEANER. Works wonders. Only precaution, DON'T get it on your hands, wear chemical resistant gloves. I take a carb completely apart and soak the parts in a bath of purple cleaner. The parts come out looking like new. Rinse with water and dry with a heat gun.

That purple stuff also kills grass better than roundup. Ages ago, my dad proceeded to kick my tail all over the yard after he saw what I did to it!

Well, I don't think it was designed to be used as a chemical lawn additive! That's why they make parts cleaning tanks. I wouldn't put gas, kerosene, diesel or many other chemicals on the grass either, but you could clean parts with them. What would you suggest to use as a parts cleaner that doesn't hurt the lawn? I'm just curious, in case I want to wash my parts out in the grass next time.

Oh! But you say it's ok to throw greasy stinking parts in the dish washer? A place where you put items that you eat off of? Oke dokey
