If one uses stablizer in winter the engine should be run unitl it get into the carbs,correct? How do you know when it gets there?
 
Take it for a ride, it'll be there. Ideally it would be good to get it into the carbs. Sometimes I just remember to get it into the tank about the 2nd week of January. At least that keeps the gas in the tank fresh. I've used it on the boat, tractor, and stored cars for years. the boat is the most susceptible to gummed up carbs, (it has 3), and i haven't had carb trouble on the boat in ten years. Knock on wood now.
 
Thanks, Vette, but I think the ride thing will have to wait. We just got 8 to 10 feet of snow last weekend with another foot due tonight. I think it will be another (last) garage run.
 
I would say a couple minutes of running at fast idle will use up the gas in the carbs and get any conditioned gas from the tank up to that point.
