Hi all. Ran into a bit of a problem today running my 79 Midget on a beutiful Colorado day. After a 20 mile jog at 70mph, I exited the freeway and then noticed the car was not idleing very well, so to head off getting stuck I headed back home. On the way home the car was jerky, like it was starving for gas. When I exited the frewway she just stopped. Long story short, after 10 minutes in the intersection I pulled the vacuum line off on the front side of the Zenith carb. Restarted right up, idled well and got her home. I the driveway I noticed gas dripping out of the bottom line of the front (secondary?) fuel canister near the radiator. I removed the lines and drained a quart of gas out of it!
So my question: what would cause the canister to fill up with gas? I've had the car on a lot longer drives before with no problems. The car has 49000 miles on it and runs extremely good, except now it needs to have the carb vacuum line off that attaches to the canister!
Thanks for any help.
Dave
