TR6 Gas cap venting.

Crisis

Just a quick question which I'm sure more knowledgable TR6 owners know off the top of their head. Is the gas cap vented at the cap? Or, is it a completely closed system incorporating the charcoal canister, carb vents, etc. I'm trying to diagnose a running problem; it feels like its starving for fuel when i'm doing any kind of accelerating. Even a nice slow pull away from a stop sign. I have to massage the throttle before I take off. Timing is good. Electronic ignition. Carb floats, diaphragm, mixture all seem ok. Driving me nuts!.

Thank you.

The gas cap was not vented on the 73.
Here's how the fuel tank was originally vented.
To see if there is a blockage in the vent line causing your problem, just pop open the gas cap and vent the fuel tank that way for a while..Then if things become normal, get some compressed air and blow out AS16 in the direction of the gas tank.
