Can't recall post/forum about inquiry as to color of 250/6 @Triumphest 2011 that someone thought was a TR4 (no badges or trim) replied to post I'd speak with owner (Tom Butler) of 250 he says color is "Ford Blue"

pics of both on my website: Point to Shots of the Month (Oct) Clic on TRfest'11 Big Bear 250 (pic #18 in 1st set of pics)
6 (pic #13 in 4th set of pics)

Sorry, I think I was looking at the wrong set of pictures. So my last post likely wasn't of any help...

Thanks for the lead to the original post, searched/found and PM'd copy of my post@top of page to John_Hensleigh who inquired about color. From distance color quite similar to Herman's TR250 however he drove his Green TR6 to Triumphest 2011

That was Herman's TR250 and is Mac Truck Blue.

Sorry I was told it was his car when i inquired about the pic. Got bad info. In fact brought up the fact that the GB flag was not painted on the under side of the hood.
I met Herman at the TRF summer party in 1999 and got to see his car sit and drive his car. I was rebuilding a TR250 and was going to use his paint code but decided it was a shade too dark for me. So i mixed up some Mac truck blue and added a bunch of white and violet and took out the black. It was perfect to what I wanted. Last summer there was a 2011 Mustang in the Ford blue in a parking lot where I was parked and it was too tempting to park beside it. There was no difference between the two colors. So ya I can see that our colors could be misconstrued as Ford blue.

Not a problem I'm only here to get or exchange info, as stated easy to see how one would think it's Herman's 250 from a distance picture, the color and at Triumphest in Cali to boot. Feel likewise Herman's a little darker with tan interior having seen his we both know besides Union Jack painted underside of hood he'd show up in finished condition (badges/emblems/trim) especially at showtime. So when asked what's that color? What do you call yours? Paint on my 6 started from British Paint #54 Saffron after tweaking paint to my personal taste call final color "ButtaScotch" Get a chance post a pic of your 250 like to see the results of your paint experiment

Here's my "Big Blue", a true ford blue.

That is a very cool car!

Thanks, as the base model it is one of the rarest, behind the station wagon, and the business model which had no back seat for traveling salesman inventory. As for the color it looks better in person as I had it redone in the metal flake ford blue, which is easier to live with than my fist 59 Galaxie Fairlane 500 which was salmon with a white top!
