So, a kind of funny story /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif And it happened to me. So I have had the motor in and all that jazz for awhile. Got the fresh carb set-up back from Hap. Fired her up in about 3 tries. Great oil pressure and everything else seems in order. I let her warm up and get the dizzy in order. Set the valves... blah, blah, blah.... It is getting a bit warm. I wonder what it could be. Everything is fresh and either new or rebuilt. Thermo? Water pump? Nahh its new. Ahh, I've seen water pumps and thermos bad brand new before. Took the thermo out while the motor was still pretty warm. It was stuck wide open. That can't be it. I'll leave that fella out for awhile to see how she runs. Must be the ;pump or some blockage???? I know, fresh rebuild... What in the world could it be? So, a buddy and I were drinking pretty heavily looking over the ol' girl in a bit of a celebration and I decided to deal with it in the morning.

Next morning::::
Fired her up and waited while she warmed up to what is too hot. Hummmm,,. Walked around the front of the car and felt warm air coming through the radiator. (The wrong direction.) Ahh man!! I put the fan on backwards!!! Now come on Barry; a fan works the same way either way???!! Turns out that the only fans that we had sitting around were for Mini motors that dad used to race. They push not pull. Ordered one from Moss and it will be here tomorrow. Video will come soon. SHe sings with a pretty hot little deal.

Feel free to make comments, because I hope you get a good laugh.

For temporary, just reverse the wiring terminals in the connector

lol, good on ya. I always tell stories on myself hopeing I will keep just one person from doing the same thing.

I wish I had never made a blunder like that, yours was best, because of no damage and little cost for the fix. I remember looking out the rear view mirror after an oil change on my old TR 4 many yrs ago and seeing a trail of oil. The cannister was cocked and hadn't sealed. We all have our stories, and leasons to remember.

Yup, I "tuned" the carbs and set my timing with the choke halfway out. I'm always pleased to hear of the easy fixes that don't do any harm. Looking forward to the video.

Thanks, didn't know that. Thought he might have just gone with an electrical.
