Does any one know what the difference is with the fuel sender unit of the bj8 p/n021-571 , bn1---bj7 p/n021-570. The bn4 to bj8 use the same fuel tank, why the different part number?? Have the senders both the same ohm resistance?? curious! Saltiga

I'm guessing the 571 and 570 have different resistances. Moss lists a different PN for the BJ8 gauge vs the earlier ones. The front connection vs the rear connection would be an easy way for a service person to make sure they're installing the correct sender. Otherwise, why would Moss bother to make two different senders when the wire connection is hidden under the floor mat?
 
Good point, the forum tells me the bj8 has a 0---90ohm resistance, don't know what the other model have, will try to find out. Who knows if this change is an original change or is it a moss change??? many a question is "why the change?" Saltiga

Doesn't the BJ8 have black-faced gauges, versus the champagne-colored faces of the earlier cars? I'd expect them to have different part numbers.
 
All of our parts suppliers list different part # for each gauge so they are different.
