Fuel runs outta carb inlet

ok I think the vent tube is the culprit, now where exactly is the vent? would you possibly have a photo?

You guys are great i only hope to be able to return the favor sometime.
Right now all advice i can offer is on the Crane optical ignition I have installed now thats a slick item and so easy to install.

there should be a connection that goes to a charcoal canister from the right of the carb (as you look at it from the drivers side)... I'm attaching a picture of the how the line is routed... your's may not be exactly like this but it ought to be reasonably similar... the vent line is highlighted in read along the top of the image... I find that just blowing into the vent connection on the carb (with no fuel in it) to be good enough to determine if there's blockage in the carb. If the carb is off the car I'd check the carb first. If the carb is on the car then I'd check the line and the charcoal canister for blockage first.

Thank you so much Rob, turns out it was the vent line. Now all I have to do is figure out how to tune it from here. Running rich at idle seems to be a little rich at high speed also.
