FUel pump...

Just started her up, usual routine. This time the fuel pump kept ticking, maybe once every two or three seconds, not the usual rapid ticking prior to start. Drove it round the block and it didn't tick, came to a stop sign and it started its slow tick again at idle.
There's no leaks, carbs good etc. Usual sources don't have a diagnosis; any suggestions? Please not a vaccuum leak...

Na, the tick is when it is pumping and the speed is how fast. Seems that it just might have a semi plugged line tank side of the pump. Blow it out good maybe. Also check the tank cap vent, ie remove the cap and see if it goes back to ticking per normal.
