TR6 Fuel pump output connection

I've just replaced my mechanical fuel pump with a replacement from Moss Motors. Install went fine. Inlet is connected and does not leak. The compression tube nut on the output threads in until it reaches the nut, but has not compressed the ferrul to prevent leaking. It seems like possibly the fuel pump body is just slightly larger.
I have searched numerous auto parts stores to find a similar tube nut with a longer threaded shaft to no avail. On-line also is a challenge as I have not found any that identify the overall dimensions.
Any suggestions on where to find a longer tube nut (1/4 1/2-20) or an alternative play to get the output connected to the fuel line? Thanks!

I just reduced the number of threads in the pump body's inlet and outlet ports so the compression nut could screw in deeper with threads to spare and compress the ferule enough to seal.

Moss has had that problem for years and still has not corrected it. I recommend that you send it back to Moss and order one from the Roadster Factory.

I second the quality of the Roadster Factory fuel pump - although I'm talking about a TR4A, not a TR6.

The price was easily 2x the others, but the quality is according. (It has a priming lever, and the number of complaints about the Moss etc. pumps is significant.) Not endorsing TRF, just saying I had a good experience with my fuel pump.

Thanks for the feedback, Popeye. I will post my results.

Thanks everyone for the great suggestions. After numerous trips to several auto parts stores, I decided to change the output fitting. I used a 1/2-20 threaded male end with a 3/8" barbed exit. This allowed me to connect to the metal fuel line using a small section of rubber tubing. Perhaps if I decide to make this a show car I will modify this to be more "factory", but I connected it all and the engine fired right up. Seems to be running pretty rich so I guess it's off to the next forum to research everyone's tricks for dialing this in! Thanks for the help and the camaraderie. I really appreciate both!
