Looked back a ways, but didn't see the post of someone fixing a fuel pump leak. I think Randall had the fix
 
Where's the leak , Don ? I can think of 4 possible places, the top, the fuel lines, or the diaphram.
 
Not mine, wanted to know for another person who installed a new Moss pump and it leaks at the connection
 
I have to get mine wicked tight else they leak (perhaps I have that newer version of the compression fitting). In any case -- a flare nut wrench is useful as that nut is soft brass and a regular open-end wrench may want to round it.
 
Maybe a second question, Has anyone bought a pump from Moss lately for the TR6?
 
The article TR3Driver posted is what fixed my fuel pump leaks. In addition to new ferrules, I purchased new brass fittings from a local NAPA auto parts store. I re-used the old lines themselves. Everything sealed up nicely and no more scary fuel leaks.
 
A guy on another forum bought one from Moss and it leaked and the nut wouldn't seal right. Bought 5/16 line and ferrule and nut and it sealed.
Why is Moss selling a 5/16 pump or is this a one of thing.
 
The original pump was designed for 5/16 lines (and the special ferrules), Triumph used a special nut to adapt 1/4 line on the output. Actually it's not all that special, the 5/16->1/4 nut used to be a standard hardware item (I found one at my FLAPS, many years ago).

One of my first lathe projects was turning a nut with a tip long enough to use a standard ferrule. It's still on there (moved over from the wrecked car).

I have completely forgotten that.
I don't have the filter side of the pump any more but still had the back side .
Measured it and saw it was 1/4. So expected both sides that way.
