TR4/4A Fuel Pipes Connector

This is the fuel pipe connector just in front of the differential of our TR4A. I've never seen a hose connection without clamps. But this one has been here for over 50 years without leaking. At the most, it would see about 2 psi pressure. Would normal maintenance have this hose replaced periodically or just leave well enough alone? With no clamp, they must be a pain to slip over the fuel line. Plus, I guess one would have to drain the tank to install.

I would remove and replace including hose clamps as it's present condition is problematic.
Love your Studie line up. Rare cars here in Australia.

Does not look very healthy; a bulge here, a bulge there. FWIW, my 250 does not have clamps and the shop manual for the 250 does not show clamps on the fuel line for the rubber to metal line connections. If/when you replace, suggest using Gates Barricade hose; ethanol approved.

Interesting no clamps NOTE my TR6 book shows no clamps either. With todays gas the hose looks ready to replace. The only pressure would be the weight of gas in tank fuel pumps suck from tank. Any gas lines over 6 years probably due. Clamps are a good option

I forgot what it is called, but anyways quality lawnmower repair shops have that gas line that fits tight with no clamps and it is made a little thinner than the auto parts store stuff. I think I paid a dollar an inch for it, but a standard rubber style should work fine.

I used it in late engine compartment on a tr3 I restored, and IIRC the late tr3 did not have clamps either. oh use some WD40 to slide it on if you go that route.
