fuel overflow actually spitting fuel?

Hi guys, how's it going. I need some really quick help figuring out something. I have a 1970 mark III midge, and he's having some spitting up problems. :: grins ::

He's running fine, (minus a bad solenoid, but hey, that's work-around-able, but if anyone has one lying around...:: grins :: drop me a line, I'm interested.) But he's spitting copious amounts of fuel out of the carb overflow, and when I brillantly stop it up, he floods...so /obviously/ he need the overflow...

Anyway, if anyone has any thoughts, I'm desperately trying to get this guy road worthy /today/...

Thanks!
