Was in the process of replacing a bad fuel pump on one of my B's. Found that a prior attempt at restoration had placed the line from the tank to the fuel pump had placed it too close to the shock and had worn a hole almost thru the line! Ordered a new line from Moss. It was of course not bent. Any recommendations on how to bend the new line?
 
There is tube bender that refrigeration tradesmen use. cost $$$$! possible to rent ?
Also a bending spring cheap but it is put over the end of the tube so fitting could be a problem

Check your local hardware store for the appropriate bending tool. It works best.

I worked at a tubing manufacturer for a while, and one trick they taught me was to put sand in the tube and then try to bend it by hand. This supposedly prevents the tube from collapsing. I never tried it though.
 
got the fuel line replaced. no need to fill with sand or use a tube bender. i have 2nd car that i could check layout from. made a pattern by inserting a 9 gauge wire into a piece of clear 1/4" plastic tubing and formed a pattern to bend the new line to. the original had been butchered by an previous owners restoration attempt so could not use. just bent by hand. go slow. warning! these things can go up in a hurry. be sure to check the routing of your fuel lines.
 
Just curious - what year "B" is it? My 77 has fuel hoses going from the tank to the pump (which I also replaced recently along with a new tank)
 
the mg that i was working on was a '70 roadster. as indicated some prior owner had done a pretty extensive restore on the car but all of the hard lines including the fuel and the brake lines are all bentup but they look like the original lines? the fuel line was the one from the tank to the fuel pump. where it was suppose to miss the shock arm and shock links the line was too close and had almost rubbed a hole into the wall of the fuel line. on the new one i also used some of the clear plastic tubing to warp the line in any area that i thought might be subject to future abrasion.
