Fuel Injection Problem on 87 XJ6 with 188,000 mile

I started having an intermitent problem on my 87 XJ6 with the Bosch injection. Occasionally on accelleration, usually to increase speed from about 40 mph, The engine behaves as if the power shuts off and the tach gyrates from 1800 RPM to 3200 RPM, swinging back and forth.

This has happened with the engine cold and at normal temperature. Take my foot off the accellerator and then step on the accellerator and after two or three tries, the engine responds normally.

On the Bosch style system, where do I start? Is this an air flow meter problem, O2 sensor, Power Resistor or do I look to the injection ECU? Where would you start to look?

Anyone had this problem?

Sounds electrical to me... supply side or bad ground to the iggy system. They're really voltage sensitive, check/clean all grounds before anything else.
