brought home my 63 bj-7 sun may 14th,been having a blast,im just beginning to appreciate its idiot-syncracies!on quark is that the fuel guage reads one guarter full when in fact the tank is M.T.my question is,are there any adjustments to either the guage itself or the tank float?i have two healy books but cant find afour mentions info.any help,thanks-anthony,i forgot to mention,i ran out of fuel in my own drive way,and found $25 in the middle of the street /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/lol.gif earlier that morning!what a lucky day!!!!
 
Start by browsing the pages at:

Search for articles on fuel gauges. I don't have the direct links but there are articles at that web site on calibrating fuel gauges. Reading 1/4 full when you're empty may (or may not) be as easy as bending a float arm. If it's electrical, definitely try the link above.
 
did just that,grounds are good considering it had recently under gone an 87% rebuild [if thats posable}i was thinking along the lines of someone sitting on the probe while having been removed from the tank.i guess ill have to experiment with bending in the up-then-down positions.most appretiative.anthony7777. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazyeyes.gif

Pull the sender out of the tank and check movement vs. gauge reading. If the readings correspond to the movement the replace the sender in the tank [ no screws yet ] with a thread attached soas to move the float and see if the float is hanging up. Mine was reverse 1/4 reading with full tank - float was sticking on internal baffle, slight repositioning of arm corrected problem.
