TR6 Fuel gauge

Just one .... don't let it go below a quarter tank! :playful:

Seriously though, I have the same problem with my TR3. Unbend a coat hanger and put a hook on the end of it. Use it to hook onto the rod for the sender. Move the sender up and down and see what readings you get on your gauge. If it goes to full before the sender reaches the point where your think a full tank should be, you might have to recalibrate your gauge.

If you get a fix that works, give me a shout. But until then, you know what to do.

Is the temp gauge running a bit high too? Might be a bad voltage stabilizer ...

Thanks guys,
I recently put a new float in gas tank because gauge wasn't working at all and
it was a Ford variety from a suggestion on this site, fit perfectly.
Oh well, I'll keep tinkering with it.
I've heard quite a bit about the voltage stabilizer and I've been struggling with
some electrical problems (dashboard lights, volt gauge, Rheostat, blower tripping
fuses. Whew!
Back to work.

As Randal said, if the temperature gauge also appears to be reading high, the problem is likely to be with the voltage stabilizer for the gauges.

Let us know a little bit more about other problems you are having with the car and what has been worked on recently. Even seemingly unrelated things sometimes can cause problems.
