Filled the tank but the gauge only shows a half tank? Worked fine up until this point? Any thoughts on how to track down the problem? Karl
 
Stuck sender in the tank? Bad ground at the tank or gauge? Did anything else change in the car? Just to rule it out… put a stick or PVC in the tank and make sure it’s really full. Sometimes the gas filler shuts off prematurely when filling up.

Good ideas. I'll check the sender. Seems to me I remember reading something about adding an extra ground wire to the fuel gauge?

Bad float on the sender. Pull the tank sender and see if the float is full of fuel.
